Shock Jock Who Called Whitney Houston a “Crack Ho” Denies Endorsing Spitzer in 2022; Spitzer's Website Claims Otherwise
If you live in Southern California, you’ve likely heard of John and Ken. Their talk radio show doesn’t appeal to everyone’s tastes, but a lot of people tune in every time they go live.
A few years back, even their biggest fans had to do without for a week as the network suspended them for calling Whitney Houston a “crack ho”, comments widely described as racist that became such a big deal that the Los Angeles City Council condemned the comments.
Most people running for elected office in California would not advertise an endorsement from these two – racist comment scandals tend not to be valuable for winning elections. But Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer is bleeding endorsers left and right. Republican Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin has left him. Democrat Nancy O’Malley, the District Attorney in Alameda County, has left him. The conservative California Women’s Leadership Association has left him. The NAACP’s California chapter has called for his resignation. So did the National Urban League and the County Democratic Party Chair.
So who’s left? Ken and John. Spitzer lists them proudly on his campaign website:
OC Watch reached out to Ken and John to talk to them about being listed as endorsers of Spitzer’s. John, speaking for the duo, told OC Watch he was surprised to hear that they were listed as endorsers. In 2018, the duo picked Todd Spitzer over Tony Rackauckas for Orange County District Attorney, but, John explained, “Once the election happens, that’s the end of that race” and “we often turn on the people we endorse, for example Arnold Schwarzenegger.”
OC Watch asked again whether Spitzer’s website was correct to list John and Ken as endorsers for his campaign. John answered plainly: “No.”
