Newly Surfaced Video Shows Spitzer Repeating The N-Word Three Times, Arrives On Top of Still Growing Racism Scandal.
In a recent meeting of the Iranian American Bar Association, Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer dropped the N-word three times during his keynote address. You can watch the relevant portion of the video here:
The full video is available here. Todd Spitzer appears to be recounting facts from various crime reports, which contain a person saying the N-word, which Spitzer repeats even though the text on his slide deck says “N-word”. Curiously, Spitzer did censor himself by saying “F-word” in the same sentence. At the end of the video, Spitzer can also be heard saying the slur “camel jockey,” apparently riffing on racist things that he’d heard.
This is not the first time this year that riffing on race has landed Spitzer in hot water. Spitzer recently allegedly opined out of nowhere in the middle of a meeting over whether the office should seek to execute a Black man that “he knows many black people who get themselves out of their bad circumstances and bad situations by only dating ‘white women.’” He also said that while in college, he “knew for sure that this black student did so on purpose to get himself out of these bad circumstances and situations.”
Spitzer’s office is also facing a lawsuit from a prosecutor inside the office who alleges that Gary LoGalbo, known to women in the office as “Scary Gary”, made racist remarks, including calling another Muslim lawyer a “terrorist.” The county performed two independent audits related to the Gary LoGalbo scandal, both of which came to unflattering conclusions for Mr. Spitzer. The first audit found Spitzer’s version of events related to alleged retaliation after women came forward with complaints about LaGalbo to be “not credible.” The second audit found that Spitzer “flagrantly” violated anti-harassment rules and engaged in “beyond inappropriate” conduct.
